Early Summer Series 2007

On Sunday, the final races of the Early Summer Series, started in light winds from the East. Ten minutes after the first race started, the wind disappeared for a few minutes before strengthening to a decent sailing wind.

In the Laser race 13, with thirteen starters, Roy Sandford only had to finish third to be sure of winning the series. He came second. Steve Clark won the race, with Rex Patching in third. Steve Clark also won races 14 and 15 with Sandford second in race 14 and Don Bowles third. Bowles came second in race 15 with Martin Watson finishing third.

The four Dart 16’s that took to the water, were all crewed single handed bar one. In race 13 Mike Pollard finished ahead of John Wiseman with Rob Hamilton and Tayla Playford in third place. Race 14 saw Hamilton and Playford coming out on top with Pollard and Wiseman filling the minor places. In race 15 Wiseman beat Pollard in a match race.

In the Merlin Class, John and Richard Parmenter had a clean sweep in all races finishing ahead of Don and Sarah Terry. Simon Terry and Claude Sgro finished third.

 In the Miracle Class Phil Cosham was unopposed.
